Doing extended sit-down interviews is something I’m asked to do a fair bit these days, and despite feeling generally more comfortable doing them, there’s always a phrase that you listen back to and go: 🤦🏼♂️ 🤦🏼♂️ 🤦🏼♂️
Over the last six months or so, I’ve been working with Westwood Instruments on a range of things around their outstanding new piano software instrument Alt Grand.
This included a recent post in which I shared a new piece ‘Meld’, which I was commissioned to showcase the capabilities of the new instrument they have built.
Alongside this, we also made a film in which I share a whole range of thoughts about how I approach composition. It’s not exhaustive, and of course it’s a medium-length YouTube video so it doesn’t have time to go into every nitty-gritty detail, but I know it will be something of interest to quite a lot of you, so here you go.
