Live Studio Recording
Performing to a live studio audience at Beckview Studios this weekend
On Saturday evening, I popped over to Scarborough - a lovely seaside town on the east coast of England - to take part in a multi-artist live studio recording at the delightful Beckview Studios.
With a live audience in-situ (some sat literally close enough to touch me), it was also livestreamed on YouTube with a rather pro setup of cameras, operators, directors and live editing.
Give it a watch below (this link should take you straight to the beginning of my set)…
As you know, I love intimate performance settings, but this was especially heightened by the context of the studio environment, and the triple pressure of performing for a live audience, an online audience, and a recording for release at a later date.
It was extremely fun and I enjoyed it immensely.
This piano was one of the brightest instruments I’ve played, and certainly one which was hard to control the volume and achieve the soft, delicate touch which runs throughout my music.
That said, I’d love to hear your thoughts when you get an opportunity to watch and listen during the next week.

Sounded great, camera work was excellent too 🎹 👍
Sounds and looks fab, love the humorous intro and that nocturne is beautiful
