Thanks so much, Adrian! This recording is a quieter solo piano version, but I'm thinking it might find its way onto a future album and could benefit from a bigger, more produced sound perhaps. What do you reckon? Can you hear that too?

It is quieter perhaps, and it would certainly be interesting to try it on a different instrument. How this would translate, who knows. Really like the track though. As is, it sounds fantastic. Have been replaying it on Spotify whilst working at home, watching fledging blue tits be fed on our bird feeder. Very evocative.

It certainly lends itself to the sound from the Keybird, and would translate beautifully to a fully felted larger piano perhaps.

Yeah, release that version on Bandcamp. I'll be first to buy it!!! Would also love to try and play this, but haven't quite got it by ear yet.... I'll keep trying... :-)

Thanks for posting it. :-)

I loved hearing about this new piano and hearing both your piece and Garreth Brooke’s as well. Lovely—and what a beautiful back story to “Düssel”.

Thanks Rhonda! It's such an interesting piano and it's always nice to share things like this, Substack works well for it I think. Thanks as ever for your interest and encouragement!

Oh! I hadn't realised the connection! It's so cool that your piece came out of that trip. These are the ties that bind :)

It’s great isn’t it?! That was certainly one of my favourite trips. I really enjoyed looking back at the photos I took from our time in Brandenburg…good times, happy memories.
