Radio Interview

A long-form interview recently broadcast on BBC Radio Lancashire

Folks, I owe you an apology.

In a most atypical course of events, it has come to pass that I am sharing a second consecutive post in which my speaking voice is the primary content.

I know this is less than ideal. Trust me, I really wish it was not so. Like most of us, I hate the sound of my voice, although - as you may have noticed - I still have plenty to say. Whoops.

In three weeks’ time, I’ll be heading off to begin an extended period of Autumn Tour dates across the UK. I have some pretty big aims for this, which aren’t hugely easy to achieve as an independent artist. But, I think you’ve got to dream big and keep pushing forward to make good things happen.

Otherwise, what are we left with?

What’s it all for?

Have a listen to the audio clip above to the hear the full clip from an interview I recently did with a lovely chap called William Wolstenholme, which was broadcast on BBC Radio Lancashire earlier this week.

Ostensibly, it was to promote my two-shows-in-one-day in the North West region on Saturday 23 November - at Lancaster Priory in the morning, and The Met in Bury during the afternoon.

I was delighted to find that William had really done his research into me and my music. I’ve done a fair amount of interviews in different contexts over the years, and I think this was the one in which I felt most known by the interviewer.

Not that I am in any way a *big deal*, but more that his questions betrayed a deeper knowledge of both my music, and my heart and intentions behind what I am attempting to do, rather than just reading off a press release.

I found this to be incredibly encouraging, and I think it allowed us to delve into topics with depth and what I hope is interesting insight, so much so that I thought it would be a nice thing to share with you this weekend.

So…apologies for more of my voice. Text or music-based content to come next week, I promise.

Have a good weekend.
